Lady Gaga's only UK festival appearance will take place in Carlisle
If you want to catch Lady Gaga at a festival this summer you better head north – to Carlisle. The Born This Way singer’s sole UK festival performance will be part of BBC’s One Big Weekend in the North Eastern city.
The 25-year-old will headline the main stage, alongside The Foo Fighters, Black Eyed Peas, Plan B and Tinie Tempah.
She told fans: ‘I’m really excited. I can’t wait.’
BBC bosses are equally as pleased, anticipating up to 500,000 ticket requests for the two-day event at Carlisle Airfield, which will take place between 14th and 15th May.
Radio 1 Live Events editor Neil Wyatt commented: ‘This will be Lady Gaga’s only UK festival performance this year. It’s going to be a very special moment.
‘We take huge artists to places they wouldn’t normally go. It’s very exciting for Carlisle.’
Marie Whitehead, chief of tourism, agreed: ‘This is without doubt the single biggest event to happen in Carlisle this side of the Millennium.’
Knowing Lady Gaga, she’s sure to put on a show worthy of such high expectations.
