Film director Robert Rodriguez gives us a first glimpse of Lady Gaga as La Chameleon in Machete Kills
Pop superstar Lady Gaga is set to make her film debut in Robert Rodriguez's Machete Kills, the director has revealed on Twitter.
The singer will join a star-studded cast, including Jessica Alba, Zoe Saldana, Vanessa Hudgens, Amber Heard, Charlie Sheen and Mel Gibson, in the action film that's due to hit cinema screens next year.
In a teaser set whet the appetite of film buffs, Rodriguez posted a picuture of Lady Gaga as her character, La Chameleon, on his Twitter page.
The promo shot shows the songstress wearing stockings, lingerie and jewellery with wolf fur draped around her back. Her hair is a vibrant yellow colour and styled in 1940s-inspired waves, and she's holding a smoking pistol.
Rodriguez commented on Twitter: 'I just finished working with @LadyGaga on @MacheteKills, she kicked SO MUCH ASS! Holy smokes. Blown away!'

The singer, who has done a spot of acting before in her epic music video mini films, is the latest recruit for the sequel to 2010's Machete, which will see Charlie Sheen play the president of the United States and Mel Gibson as an eccentric billionaire arms dealer.
