Kristen Stewart’s Twilight co-star Myanna Buring leaps to her defence

EXCLUSIVE! Myanna Buring tells Marie Claire just why Kristen Stewart won’t be typecast as Bella Swan

Kristen Stewart’s most famous role as Bella Swan in Twilight has done anything but harm her celebrity status or bank balance, and her Breaking Dawn Part 1 and 2 co-star Myanna Buring believes it’ll do anything but harm her career too.

After playing such an iconic role, Kristen could well suffer the affects of being typecast but Myanna was keen to stress this wouldn’t be the case leaping to the star’s defence.

Myanna told us: ‘Kristen Stewart is a very versatile and very natural actress if she carries on working, which she will do, in the way that she has picking really eclectic roles I don’t think she’ll ever be typecast.’

And if that wasn’t enough of an argument the Swedish-born star continued to her praise Kristen adding: ‘Twilight will be an amazing backdrop for Kristen, she’s too good an actress to be under the thumb of Bella forever.’

While they may have had very few scenes together during the film franchise, Myanna and Kristen did spend six months on location and gained a strong insight into each other.

‘Kristen was lovely,’ Myanna said. ‘She is really down to earth and even looks amazing on crutches!’

Talk then turned to life as the new girl on set, as Myanna joined the Twilight cast for the Breaking Dawn films, playing vampire Tanya.

Speaking of the experience she said: ‘Everyone was really welcoming I think it was fun to have a bit of new blood in the cast. I think they enjoyed that.

‘When I arrived at my hotel in Louisiana I had a phone message saying: "Hi this is Casey La Bow I’m playing your sister [Kate] come and meet me in the bar." It was like a family on set.’

After five films, the Twilight cast feel like our family too!
