Katy Perry was given the hefty sum to sing for just 45 minutes at the former Strictly star’s nuptials
Katy Perry topped up her bank account this weekend when she performed at Holly Valance and Nick Candy’s wedding. The singer came with a superstar price tag – a reported £1.2 million to sing for just 45 minutes
That, of course, wasn’t the only musical entertainment for the four-day festivities, the 300 guests were treated to a set by the cast of Jersey Boys, after the groom flew the performers from London to LA for the wedding simply because Holly loves the musical.
If that wasn’t enough thoughtfulness, Holly’s closest friends and family recorded a video singing The Most Beautiful Girl In The World in her honour. This was shown at Paramount Studios on Friday night, after the previous evening’s ‘welcome party’ at Soho House in LA.
For the actual nuptials, held in a friend’s garden in Beverley Hills, Holly Valance chose a dress from J’Aton Couture that featured a 15ft veil and sweetheart neckline with a single strap over her right shoulder.
The bottom of the dress cascaded into darker shades and is believed to have cost around £35,000. After the ceremony the former Neighbours star tweeted her thanks to the designers writing: ‘Thank u 2 the most supremely talented & divine humans I’ve come across in a long time @JAtonCouture U R just phenomenal. Love u & all u do.X [sic]’
To complement her dress, the new Mrs Candy held a bouquet of black magic calla lilies, which paled in comparison to the £60,000 worth of flowers used for the rest of the wedding.
Guests including Simon Cowell, Elton John, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, Tracey Emin and Philip Treacy were treated to thousands of canapés, sushi and two barbecues washed down with champagne and mojito cocktails.
But for some laid back sophistication they were also invited to two barbecues one of which was a pool party – no doubt paying homage to the bride’s Australian roots.
And what do you give a couple who have a property empire worth a reported £9 billion? The couple asked guests to make donations to Disability Rights International or Alzheimer’s Research.
We wish them all the best!
