The newly-single starlet’s set to star as a zany prison guard, on hit show Raising Hope
She’s been throwing herself into work following her split from hubby Russell Brand back in January, and Katy Perry’s certainly one busy lady.
Yesterday the songstress revealed she’s set to grace the small screen and turn her hand to acting, with a cameo in American comedy hit, Raising Hope.
After wrapping her epic two year-long world tour, debuting a new single and getting down to work on a new album, it seems Ms Perry has still got more to give.
The singer confirmed she’s set to make a guest appearance on the hit show yesterday, after her best pal – and the show’s leading star Shannon Woodward – invited her along.
After treating Twitter followers to a hilarious peek at herself in character, with the caption: ‘I hope I don’t get typecast,’ the singer released a sarcastic statement, joking about being offered the role by show creator Greg Garcia.
‘A couple of weeks ago, I was home, just toasting up a frozen chicken fillet when Shannon called me up and asked if I wanted to do something ‘fun’ for a change and try out a guest role on her TV show,’ she said of her cameo, which sees her play a zany prison guard.
‘I thought, sure, I have nothing else to do, and I like chillin’ with my best friend. Greg was nice, but I hope he’s not secretly sabotaging my potential future career by type-casting me in the role of just a looker, so that I would never be able to play anything more challenging.’
Comedic efforts aside, Katy still has plenty on her plate. The singer stepped out to launch a new lashes line in LA yesterday, arriving in an entirely blue ensemble.
The starlet matched her tight fitting frock to her electric blue hair hue – which she first showed off during an outing last month, her first public appearance since her split from Russell Brand.
