Kate Middleton will make her first overseas speech during her Diamond Jubilee tour, as she journeys to South East Asia and the South Pacific with Prince William next month.
The Duchess of Cambridge will address staff and patients at a Malaysian hospital during the second leg of the trip – only her second public speech since joining the royal family.
William and Kate’s overseas tour will begin on Tuesday 11th September, when they’ll arrive in Singapore.
From Thursday the 13th, the royal couple will travel to Malaysia, including Kuala Lumpur and Sabah, Borneo, before departing for the Solomon Islands on Sunday 16th September.
Finally on September 19th, Prince William and Kate Middleton will journey to the Tuvalu, the world’s fourth-smallest country, staying one night at the country’s only hotel, before departing for home.
After the success of their tour of Canada and North America last year, William and Kate join the rest of the royal family, who who between them have visited every Commonwealth realm during the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee year.
With so many different engagement to make, the royal couple have increased the size of their team for their second overseas journey, and will be joined by several aides, including the couple’s official private secretary, Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton, Kate Middleton’s personal secretary, Rebecca Deacon, and a freelance hairdresser, paid for by Prince Charles.
According to reports, Prince William has hired a private jet for the duration of their journey, while Kate Middleton has been hard at work planning over 30 different outfits for the trip.
