The Duchess of Cambridge has been apart from her new husband for several weeks now and is starting to feel lonely

The Duchess of Cambridge was all smiles during the royal visit to Leicester to kick off the Diamond Jubilee, but she admitted yesterday that she's missing Prince William desperately.

Her husband is currently stationed in the Falkland Islands and has been for over a month.

Kate Middleton confided to a well-wisher waiting in the crowds in Leicester, where the 30-year-old was joined by The Queen and Prince Phillip, that she was lonely without the Prince.

Laura Murphy, 30, asked the Duchess about how she was getting on without her husband.

She told the Press Association that she asked 'how's William?' and she said 'he's fine - I'm missing him terribly'.

She added: 'She was really smiley. Really happy.'

Murphy said she also asked Kate how she was doing without her husband. She said the Duchess replied: 'I'm being well looked after.'

The duchess looked her usual elegant self during yesterday's activities in a teal L.K. Bennett suit and James Lock hat.
