Bookmakers have slashed odds on Kate Middleton's baby being named Alexandra, with some suspending betting altogether
Kate Middleton has gone out of her way to keep her baby name shortlist a secret, after a slip-up early in her pregnancy led to her seemingly revealing she was having a girl.
But it seems like the Duchess of Cambridge's moniker of choice could be out, after bookmakers received a flood of bets on the name Alexandra.

A spokesman for Coral bookmakers told The Sun of the Kate Middleton baby bets, which led to them slashing odds from 25-1 to 12-1: 'We have been inundated with bets on Alexandra.
'It’s the second biggest surge since we were forced to suspend bettering on the couple having a girl.'
Just hours later, Coral suspended bets on Kate Middleton's baby name altogether, after being flooded with bets in the area of Kate's hometown, Berkshire.

'Alarm bells were set off after several bets in the Berkshire area and having slashed the odds, first to 12-1 and then 2-1, we made the decision to suspend the betting,' a spokesman told the Huffington Post UK.
It has previously been revealed that Kate Middleton has turned to the royal family for name inspiration, and is also considering christening the baby Phillip, after Prince William's grandfather The Duke of Edinburgh.
'The name Philip is in the frame for a boy. It will certainly have it somewhere in his name,' one source told the Daily Star.
What else is on their shortlist?
As well as Phillip and Alexandra, Kate's rumoured favourites include Victoria, Diana and Elizabeth.
During an official visit to Scotland last week, Kate told onlookers she and William had drawn up a shortlist of names, but were finding it hard to whittle it down.
'We have a shortlist for both (a boy and girl), but it’s very difficult,'s Kate said. 'My friends keep texting me names.'
