Kate Hudson to design collection with US label Ann Taylor

Kate Hudson has flexed her fashion know-how to collaborate with the American brand

Kate Hudson is making her design debut by collaborating with US label Ann Taylor.

The actress, who has already spent the past three years fronting the brand, has designed a capsule collection for high summer 2013.

The range flawlessly marries Kate’s penchant for elaborate designer dresses with her everyday looks, making the line wearable with just the right measure of glamour.

Kate Hudson collaborated with Ann Taylor’s creative director Lisa Axelson on the line and it will hit US stores in May. All other details about the collection are tightly under wraps and yet to be revealed.

Speaking to WWD about the new partnership, Kate said: ‘Working with Ann Taylor has been a great creative experience and there is a really wonderful connection.

‘Ann Taylor is great at creating iconic wardrobe staples and updating them season after season. I love that Lisa Axelson is designing clothes for real women.’

And while on the topic of real women, Kate is an advocate of paring style with substance as it’s believed she’ll also sign up to Ann Inc.’s ANNpower Vital Voice Initiative that mentors young girls across the world in unlocking their leadership potential.
