Beyonce Knowles has been crowned the most beautiful woman in the world by People magazine.

In a rare interview, the new mum, has been talking about how she feels better than ever since giving birth to daughter Blue Ivy.

'I feel more beautiful than I've ever felt because I've given birth. I have never felt so connected, never felt like I had such a purpose on this earth.'

WHAT AGE DOES A WOMAN FEEL MOST BEAUTIFUL?

She added: 'The best thing about having a daughter is having a true legacy.

'The word "love" means something completely different now.'

The 30-year-old also opened up about how becoming a mother has made her chill out when it comes to her fashion and beauty regime.

'I never thought there would be a day when I wouldn't wear heels,' she said.

'Now that I have a child, I walk around holding her all day, I'm buying loafers and oxfords. I love them, because they're comfortable, and shorter heels too.

She added: '[Jay-Z] loves it when I wear flat shoes, which is surprising - he never saw me in flats before! He likes me more natural - just the relaxed, natural me.'

And as for her hair, the multi-millionaire revealed that she's taken to cutting her own locks instead of heading to an expensive salon.

'I recently cut two inches myself - I just parted it in the middle and chh-chh-chh!'

It won't have escaped anyone's notice that Beyonce has sprung back into great shape since the birth of Blue Ivy in January. The world's most beautiful woman said that breast-feeding helped her lose most of her pregnancy weight but now she's put herself on a strict protein-based diet and works out three times a week.

She added: 'I'm definitely softer, but I feel my body bouncing back.'

The rest of People magazine's top ten was made up of Modern Family star Sofia Vergara, Charlize Theron, Lily Collins, Madeleine Stowe, Christina Hendricks, Michelle Williams, Paula Patton, Miranda Lambert and the Duchess of Cambridge, in that order.
