Kim Cattrall to star in Fifty Shades of Grey movie?

The Sex and the City actress adds to the speculation surrounding film adaptation

There's been wild speculation about who will play the two leads in the upcoming Fifty Shades of Grey movie, but now Kim Cattrall has revealed she is in the running to play one of the supporting characters.

Cattrall, who is a fan of the erotic trilogy, told an Australian radio station that she is battling against Uma Thurman for the role of the mysterious former lover of Christian Grey, Elena Lincoln.

Speaking to radio hosts Kyle and Jackie, the actress said: 'As far as I'm aware it's potentially between me and Uma Thurman.

'I think we are in minds at the moment. That's based on a lot of people's blogs and desires at the moment. As far as I know they are still writing the script so the casting is some way down the line.'

MILA KUNIS TIPPED FOR FIFTY SHADES LEAD ROLE

Cattrall could have the edge over Thurman, as she is used to playing raunchy roles. She is best known for portraying maneater Samantha in Sex and the City.

If she lands a part in the film, which is tipped for major success, she could be sharing scenes with Ryan Gosling, who is favourite to play handsome billionaire Christian Grey.
