The Beckhams know how to birthday in style

David Beckham just turned 41, and of course he celebrated with his family in style.

He saw in this birthday in a much quieter way than last year, when he toasted the big 4-0 in Morocco with the rest of the Beckhams and a bunch of A-list pals, including Emma Bunton and Mel C, magician David Blaine, Eva Longoria, best friend Dave Gardner and his partner Liv Tyler.

This year he opted for a quiet cabin in the English countryside. 

Son Brooklyn took to Instagram to give fans a peep at the wood cabin, with the caption, ‘Hiding away for the weekend with my family @VictoriaBeckham and @DavidBeckham. A big day tomorrow.’

He also shared a picture of the two posing on a fence with the sweet message: ‘Happy birthday dad. I’m so lucky to have a dad and hero all in one! Love you so much.’

This could definitely be one for the Beckham family Christmas card this year.

Later in the day, he posted David sitting with an enviable pile pf presents, calling his dad ‘Mr Guns.’ We can’t think why.

Victoria also posted a picture of her husband and his presents with the caption: ‘Happy birthday to the most amazing husband and wonderful daddy X We love you all so much.’

1) Where did they get the atlas wrapping paper from? That’s such a dad-friendly style of wrapping paper.

2) What are the presents? We can see a few flattish T shirt shaped ones and some boxes.

3) Can we take a second to admire how disciplined DB is. He’s posed for two pictures in front of that massive pile and resisted diving straight in.

The best post of the day was from the birthday boy himself, in which he revealed that he had the cake of all cakes… Collin the Caterpillar.

Instagramming a black and white shot (Colin looks great in an artier filter), David said: ‘As the night comes to a close I wanted to thank everyone for the birthday wishes I received and also this delicious caterpillar cake the kids gave me tonight…’
