Model mum Heidi Klum was reluctant to call her romance with her bodyguard beau a ‘proper relationship’ back in September, but in a new interview with German magazine Bunte, she reveals she’s ‘in love’ with boyfriend Martin Kristen.

Klum was first spotted cosying up to bodyguard Kristen on holiday in August, and their relationship has quickly progressed over the past few months, with Kristen putting in lots of family and one-on-one time with Klum’s four children: Lou, three, Johan, five, Henry, seven and Leni, eight, taking them to the local pumpkin patch, cheering them on at their football games and enjoying frozen yoghurt as a family.

And the fact her kids adore him is one of the reasons Heidi is so smitten.

‘They like him very much,’ she told German mag Bunte in a new interview.

‘This is also one reason why I'm so fond of him. He's been helping me for four years now. And he takes wonderful care of the kids. He plays with them, he protects them. I trust him.’

Klum, who filed for divorce from hubby Seal after seven years of marriage in January of this year, didn’t beat about the bush when the magazine asked how she feels about Kristen.

‘Ja! Ich bin verliebt!’ she reportedly exclaimed, which translates to: ‘Yes! I’m in love!’

Wow, things are moving fast! Just two months ago, in an interview with Katie Couric on Couric’s US chat show, the Project Runway host didn’t even want to call her blossoming romance with Kristen a ‘proper relationship.’

‘I don’t even know if I can call it that. I don’t know.’

Klum also revealed the pair will be spending Christmas with the children’s grandparents in California, and explained why they have been keeping a low profile with their relationship.

‘Martin is not hiding. He's just not the sort of guy looking for the spotlight. He prefers to stay in the background.

‘There will always be people who will criticize whoever I live with, what kind of clothes I wear or what hairstyle I have. At the end of the day, you have to do what makes you happy. That's the rule I live by.’
