Anyone here for it?

Words by Jadie Troy-Pryde

This series of the Great British Bake Off has seen some of the most extra showstoppers in the show's history, and that's what we love about it.

But hold on, because something is changing tonight - and viewers aren't quite sure how they feel about it.

Since moving from the BBC to Channel 4, the show has been subjected to some changes - namely the different hosts, and the fact that they've done away with the cake history segments - but overall it has retained its charm and continued to be the show we all know and love.

However, tonight's episode hasn't even aired yet and it's already proving controversial.

Why? Because the producers have decided to make a huge change, and fans are already making their judgements.

Each week, we watch the bakers try their hand at making breads, pastries and difficult designs (ahem, we're looking at you, biscuit chandelier).

And this week, the remaining bakers have the chance to prove how savvy they are when it comes to vegan baking.

Stripped of their staple ingredients like milk, eggs and butter, they'll be whipping up a storm using dairy-free alternatives.

While the challenge is as good as any, it hasn't gone down well with all Bake Off fans.

Taking to Twitter, one fan commented: "Vegan week on Bake Off is like having a no brick week on Grand Designs."

Another wrote: "Anyone else less than enthusiastic about Vegan week on GBBO?"

A third added: "Vegan week? ... Lost my viewing."

But not everyone is so offended by soy milk and yolk-free baking. Some people are convinced it's a step in the right direction for veganism.

One viewer said: "Dear people who are horrified by the thought of vegan ....just remember that there are also people out there with dairy & egg intolerances and allergies, who will also love this! This episode will be great for those of us who are usually excluded."

Well, we'll be tuning in to soy how they get on.
