Jonah Hill jokingly confirmed the Fifty Shades of Grey movie roles on Sunday evening

tThe Fifty Shades of Grey movie roles were jokingly announced on Sunday night at the MTV Movie Awards 2013 as Jonah Hill told the audience he and Emma Watson would be taking on the lead roles in the upcoming film version of the hit books.

As Emma Watson took to the MTV Movie Awards stage to receive her award for Trailblazer, the comedic actor introduced the star before saying: ‘I’m announcing officially that we’ll be starring in the screen adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey.’

And the humour didn’t stop there, he went on to say: ‘My safety word is tangerine. If I say that word you have to stop doing stuff to me.’

The joke comes in the wake of Emma Watson’s denial that she was to star in the Fifty Shades of Grey movie, last month the actress tweeted: ‘Who here actually thinks I would do 50 Shades of Grey as a movie? Like really. For real. In real life.’

Jonah Hill isn’t the only celebrity unable to resist joking about the Fifty Shades of Grey movie cast, Sheridan Smith played an April Fools on Twitter recently telling her followers: ‘I'm so excited to tell you that I've been cast as the lead girl in 50 shades of grey opposite Eddie Redmayne, can't wait to start filming!!’

Sadly for disappointed movie fans, Sheridan confessed to the joke shortly afterwards leaving the casting rumours to roll on…
