Ian Somerhalder continues his almost daily discussion of The Fifty Shades of Grey movie

The Fifty Shades of Grey movie is quickly becoming synonymous with Ian Somerhalder who is already hotly tipped to take on the role of Christian Grey and the star is doing little to distance himself from the rumours.

The Vampire Diaries actor spoke to Associated Press about the best-selling trilogy and revealed how the general public are already starting to see him as the male lead, recalling an encounter he had with one shopper who was buying the book.

Ian Somerhalder revealed he locked eyes with a lady in a shop as she was browsing Fifty Shades of Grey in the queue for the checkout. He said they ‘totally had a moment’.

He went on to say she went a little red faced after they looked eyes adding: ‘You could see her blushing for a second. She saw that I saw the book, and I just smiled at her and said, “It’s a good read, huh?” And she goes, “This so embarrassing.”’

But he didn’t stop there, Ian appears to be growing accustomed to people’s reactions to him taking on the Fifty Shades of Grey movie role, ‘Everybody's up for this role,’ he said. ‘But in her mind, just from seeing media, I was that guy."
