As a casting call goes out in LA, favourite Aaron Taylor-Johnson has ruled himself out of the role…
Aaron Taylor-Johnson has ruled himself out of the running for the Fifty Shades of Grey movie, just weeks after it was revealed his wife, Sam Taylor-Johnson will be directing the film.
In a new interview, the British actor told reporters he was ‘not old enough’ to take on the part [he is 23, Christian Grey is 27], and firmly said he was ‘not Christian Grey’.
Speaking to Metro ahead of the release of new movie Kick-Ass 2, Taylor-Johnson opened up on the hype surrounding the hotly-anticipated film, and how he thinks his other half is ‘totally the right person’ to take charge of the flick.
‘I am thrilled she is doing it,’ he said of Sam Taylor-Johnson’s appointment as director. ‘She got the job and overnight it went crazy. But Sam is incredible. She is totally the right person to take it to a whole other level of class.’
Rubbishing rumours that he could be set to play brooding multimillionaire Christian Grey, he added: ‘I am not Christian Grey. I mean, he is supposed to be the most gorgeous man on the f***ing planet! And I am not old enough.’
That told us.
Taylor-Johnson’s Christian Grey comments come just days after it was revealed a casting call for several parts had gone out in LA.
According to The Inquistr, audition site ActingAuditions.org published an open casting call asking actors to submit head shots and resumés to Universal Pictures for the prospective male and female roles, leading us to think that the star-studded cast we were all hoping for is far from a reality.
Focus Features, the production company behind the movie adaptation of E L James’ record-selling book, tweeted a teaser on 1 Aug to say that the film was only one year away from release.
Now who could be free at such short notic?
