Actors Eddie Redmayne and Andrea Riseborough were joined by Hayley Atwell, Damian Lewis and Helen McCrory for the Evening Standard Film Awards, in London last night.
Andrea Riseborough, who wowed in a dramatic white Jenny Packham gown complete with cape and jewellery by Feberge, was crowned Best Actress for her performance as an IRA bomber in James Marsh’s thriller Shadow Dancer, while Film of the Year went to Skyfall, the 23rd James Bond film, directed by Sam Mendes.
'The London Evening Standard British Film Awards celebrate a sensational year for British film' said the newspaper's editor, Sarah Sands.
'Thanks in part to the extraordinary success of Skyfall - a truly big British movie, delivered with a panache Hollywood could envy - 2012 also highlighted the creativity, vision and talent of a new generation of British film-makers, actors and actresses.'
Also attending the glitzy ceremony held at the London Museum was Jamie Winestone in Nicholas Kirkwood, Amy Adams, Helen McCrory and Damian Day-Lewis.
