Spokesmen have yet to confirm the reason for Cheryl’s departure, but already Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger – who was initially given a presenting role on the show – is being tipped to step into her place on the judging panel.
US celebrity website TMZ – who broke the story – have suggested the 27-year-old Promise This singer ‘lacked chemistry’ with her fellow female judge Paula Abdul, while others are blaming a behind-the-scenes personality clash between the two singers for Cheryl’s early exit.
Some have even gone to far as to say Cheryl has been sacked from the American X Factor show, by uneasy Fox bosses, worried audiences would have trouble understanding the starlet’s strong Newcastle accent.
Others, however, are claiming Ms C herself made the decision to leave, after feeling homesick after her move Stateside, and exhausted by the busy filming schedule.
‘It hasn’t worked out,’ one insider reportedly told the Sun. ‘She’s homesick and wants to return to the UK. She’s had enough.’

Cheryl’s next move, and whether the British beauty will resume her place on the British X Factor panel.
‘Whether she ends up back on UK X Factor is open to speculation,’ an insider added.
Representatives for Cheryl are yet to comment.
