The songstress sparked a frenzy of Tweets when she announced her pregnancy at the MTV VMAs
Super-songstress Beyonce smashed a Twitter record during the MTV Video Movie Awards on Sunday, after her pregnancy news and bump-revealing performance sparked a frenzy of Tweets.
The social networking site has confirmed a record 8,868 Tweets were sent per second during Bey’s explosive Love On Top performance at the ceremony - eclipsing the previous record of 7,196.

The blooming star spilled the baby beans to press and fans as she walked the red carpet at the awards, arriving with a tiny baby bump, and telling reporters: 'I have a surprise!'
And within seconds Twitter was abuzz with excited talk about the news.
But it wasn’t until Ms Knowles’ live performance at 10:35pm that the social networking surge peaked, smashing the existing record as Bey ripped open her sparkling Dolce & Gabanna jacket on stage to show of her blooming bump and fuller new figure.
