Skater Boy singer Avril Lavigne splits from husband
Avril Lavigne is set to divorce her rock star husband Deryck Whibley, just three years after tying the knot. Rumblings of a split surfaced earlier this summer and now it looks as if the 24-year-old Skater Boy singer is parting company with her Sum 41 band member for good.
Reports have emerged that Avril has asked her estranged husband to leave their $9.5 million house in Los Angeles.
One source told US weekly magazine: ‘She dumped him and told him she was leaving him. She wants to move on.’
They added: ‘Divorce papers will be filed any day now.’
By all accounts, the decision to end the three-year marriage came from Avril, after reports that husband Whibley, 29, is said to be ‘crushed’ by the split.
But what’s really behind the separation? Too much distance apart and Whibley feeling overshadowed by his wife’s success, apparently.
Meanwhile, Lavigne has put a brave face on things, making a splash on the catwalk at New York Fashion Week with her debut fashion line.
