  • Nestled in the heart of Mayfair and beloved by celebrities, Novikov is the perfect destination for cosy dinner à la après-ski

This luxury West End venue is a popular hotspot with the celebs and Premier League footballers, with the likes of Justin Bieber, Anthony Joshua, Drake and Novak Djokovic all being spotted in Novikov. As we walk up Berkeley Street, I notice the super cars outside before I notice the venue itself! So I was intrigued to find out just what it was that the rich and famous love about this place…

This venue is unique with not one, but two restaurants and a stylish lounge bar. The first restaurant is Asian, with its stunning open kitchen fronted by an amazing display of fresh seafood and vegetables. As we walk past, we notice how vast it is but, but also the great atmosphere. The second restaurant is Italian, offering regional Italian dished with a contemporary twist, and an imposing wood fired oven and rustic chandeliers.

However, our reason for being here is neither of these tempting restaurants: we are looking to embrace winter and laugh in the face of the January blues as we go downstairs to the lounge bar and enter the Winter Chalet. This is the ultimate après-ski experience without having to leave London! So if you’re not setting foot on the slopes this winter you can still have all the apres-ski fun at Novikov’s Winter Chalet!

Set in the annex of the lounge bar, Novikov has transformed the area into a cosy, alpine lodge, overloaded with reindeer, sheepskin rugs, throws, fluffy cushions, squidgy sofas, candles and a log fire. Topped off with a wooden antler chandelier, this is taking cosy to a new level. The menu does not disappoint and is the perfect comfort food for your surroundings. Indulge in winter warmers like Bratwurst, fondue, smoked speck served with gherkins, rye bread and tartiflette (my favourite). The menu really gives you the sense you spent the day on the slopes, and if you fancy something a little less ‘alpine cosy’ to eat, you can also order from the lounge bar dishes.

You can even have your own party here, thanks to the dining table that can seat up to twenty, or even host forty guests if you don’t mind standing…

Be sure to try an exquisite cocktail. The bar staff really know their stuff and treated us to the perfect rum sours while we cosied up on the massive sofa wondering if we should plan a ski trip!

Thankfully, when the food coma wears off and the rum sours kick in, you are perfectly placed next to the lounge bar where you can order from the extensive drinks menu with live music and performances from some the worlds top DJs.
