This £30 Primark coat has an actual waiting list

Much as I'm loath to admit it, winter coats season is upon us (I know, shouldn't complain, we had a long summer etc), however the silver lining is that the outerwear game is strong right now.

Case in point: the Primark coat, which has dropped in stores this week and is so popular it's got its own waiting list.

Spotted on many a fashion editor and influencer, it's been dubbed 'the coat that goes with everything' and I can confirm this.

It comes in a very covetable check design, in heritage shades of brown, beige and dark red. The duster style and midi length also mean it'll go with everything from midi dresses to jeans and flares, and the colourway also lends itself to most shades too.

Really, it's a bit of a no-brainer, especially when I throw in the fact that it's only £30. Not even a 'let's wait until pay day' scenario.

Seeing how popular the coat already is, I'd say it'll sell out fast, so head to your nearest Primark store ASAP.

Penny grew up in France and studied languages and law at the Sorbonne Nouvelle University in Paris before moving to the UK for her MA in multimedia journalism at Bournemouth University. She moved to the UK permanently and has never looked back (though she does go back regularly to stock up on cheese and wine).

Although she's always loved fashion - she used to create scrapbooks of her favourite trends and looks, including Sienna Miller and Kate Moss' boho phase - her first job was at MoneySavingExpert.com, sourcing the best deals for everything from restaurants to designer sales.

However she quit after two years to follow her true passion, fashion journalism, and after many years of internships and freelance stints at magazines including Red, Cosmopolitan, Stylist and Good Housekeeping, landed her dream job as the Digital Fashion Editor at Marie Claire UK.

Her favourite part of the job is discovering new brands and meeting designers, and travelling the world to attend events and fashion shows. Seeing her first Chanel runway IRL at Paris Fashion Week was a true pinch-me moment.
