It was a veritable who’s who of A-listers on the red carpet in New York

tlast night, as Hollywood’s most famous faces (not to mention designer

royalty!), donned their most fabulous finery for fashion’s biggest bash

of the year – the Met Gala 2016. This year, the exclusive benefit event –

where attendees fork out an eye-watering $25,000 per ticket – celebrate

the opening of a very special exhibition: Manus x Machina: Fashion in

an Age of Technology. And as per, the designers once again outdid

    themselves.

As co-chair of this year’s glittering event, all eyes were on Taylor Swift, whose shocking platinum blonde hair transformation made

its official red carpet debut. And we certainly hope the singer doesn’t

disappoint, since we’re expecting some major commitment to this year’s

    techonlogy inspired theme.

Designers descended on the famed red

carpet staircase, with their celeb bezzies in tow and dripping in their

custom couture. Judging from previous Met Balls, some will stay on theme

while others interpret the carefully curated dress code in their own

unique way (with varying results). Only some though can join the list of

the best Met Ball dresses of all time, but as we know, there is there’s no such thing as a worst dressed at the Met – you either go big or you go home, and no risk is too risky.

    The

fashion elite, of course, wouldn’t have the perfect night honouring

fashion without their A-list guests… And no red carpet is complete

without a few aww-worthy moments from our favourite celeb couples. While

Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively was on our list of the cutest couples at last year’s Met, Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik made the most squeal-worthy moment for 2016’s red carpet.
