A lot can change in 8 years…

Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively are one of Hollywood’s golden couples, from their trolling each other publicly to their hilarious anecdotes about their daughters.

But the union that is Lively-Reynolds almost didn’t happen, as Ryan has admitted to not wanting to remarry after his divorce from Scarlett Johansson.

Ryan and Scarlett announced their separation in 2010 after two years of marriage, releasing the following statement:

‘After long and careful consideration on both our parts, we've decided to end our marriage. We entered our relationship with love and it's with love and kindness we leave it. While privacy isn't expected, it's certainly appreciated.’

Both Scarlett and Ryan were very respectful of the other, but also very blunt about the realities of divorce.

And while Scarlett called it ‘the loneliest thing you’ll ever have to do’, Ryan told Details that remarrying wasn’t for him, announcing: ‘I don’t think I want to get married again.’

'But you always re-evaluate these things,' he continued. 'Any kind of crisis can be good. It wakes you up. I gotta say, I'm a different person than I was six months ago. I'm not out of it yet. At all. But I sense that as I do come through it, there's optimism. How can there not be?'

Well a lot can change it seems, as a year and a half later he was tying the knot with Blake Lively, and the rest is history.
