'they are staffing up ahead of a big announcement'

Rumours about Meghan Markle's wedding dress designer have been rife ever since the engagement was announced, and with the Royal wedding a mere month away (who else is excited?!), a new clue may reveal who she's chosen for the task.

It was previously thought it might be Ralph & Russo, the British brand behind her engagement portrait dress. However now the fashion industry is leaning more towards Erdem.

Why? Well first off, the fashion house has just taken its PR in-house, and hired a new PR manager, leading to believe they might have lots of announcements to make soon. Like maybe revealing they've designed THE wedding dress of the century, no biggie.

According to People, it's 'leading several royal watchers to wonder if they are staffing up ahead of a big announcement'.

Secondly, by choosing Erdem to design her dress, Meghan would be paying homage to two countries close to her heart. The UK, as it's a British-based brand also favoured by her sister-in-law Kate Middleton, and Canada where she's been based to film Suits for the past few years, as the designer Erdem Moralıoğlu is Canadian.

If that's not a perfect fit we don't know what is. That said, we won't know for sure until the day of the actual wedding (19th May ICYMI), so all bets are off.

Penny grew up in France and studied languages and law at the Sorbonne Nouvelle University in Paris before moving to the UK for her MA in multimedia journalism at Bournemouth University. She moved to the UK permanently and has never looked back (though she does go back regularly to stock up on cheese and wine).

Although she's always loved fashion - she used to create scrapbooks of her favourite trends and looks, including Sienna Miller and Kate Moss' boho phase - her first job was at MoneySavingExpert.com, sourcing the best deals for everything from restaurants to designer sales.

However she quit after two years to follow her true passion, fashion journalism, and after many years of internships and freelance stints at magazines including Red, Cosmopolitan, Stylist and Good Housekeeping, landed her dream job as the Digital Fashion Editor at Marie Claire UK.

Her favourite part of the job is discovering new brands and meeting designers, and travelling the world to attend events and fashion shows. Seeing her first Chanel runway IRL at Paris Fashion Week was a true pinch-me moment.
