Keira Knightley exudes elegance and charm every time she graces the red carpet in yet another incredible designer dress but she was keen to show off her other side when Marie Claire caught up with the star.

While Keira Knightley walked around the Islamic art exhibition in New York’s Museum of Arts and Design she stopped to read a placard before saying: ‘I get quite pissed off at being told what to think.

‘Maybe I’m a savage dumb person, but I want to believe it is what I believe it is.’

And we’re happy to let her!

Something else Keira likes to interpret for herself is style, ‘I like the fantasy of fashion,’ she says. ‘Creating a different person and dressing up like her. Putting on a flowery dress when it’s raining brightens up the world.’

But you wont find the star spending her days browsing the rails for the perfect wardrobe staple, instead you’ll find her with enjoying a relaxed drink with a girl friend.

Her long-term pal and fellow actress Sienna Miller reveals: ‘She’s [Keira Knightley] not a shopping sort of girl – we’re more drink wine girls.’
