Katie Holmes shocked everyone when she announced that she was divorcing Tom Cruise after nearly six years of marriage, and the actress hasn't wasted any time in moving herself and daughter Suri Cruise out of the family home.
According to People magazine, Holmes and Suri, were spotted on Thursday (June 28) moving their bags out of the New York City apartment they shared with Cruise to a new pad elsewhere in Manhattan.
Holmes, 33, filed for divorce in New York, where it's apparently easier for her to ensure she gets sole custody of daughter, Suri.

Cruise, who turns 50 on Tuesday (July 2), seems to have other ideas, though, and is reportedly trying to move the divorce proceedings to California to avoid the sky-high NYC tax rates.
If reports are to be believed, Holmes and Cruise's divorce looks set to get messy as the Dawson's Creek star is said to be after more than the £10 million settlement that has been widely quote in the media - it's thought that Holmes gets £2 million for every year of their five-year marriage as stipulated in the couple’s 100-page pre-nuptial agreement, although this is yet to be confirmed.
However, Cruise's lawyer, Bert Fields, hopes that the divorce will run smoothly. He told the Los Angeles Times: 'I would hope that it's not a contentious matter.'
'I know Tom is not a particularly contentious person.'
'Katie's primary concern remains, as it always has been, her daughter's best interest.'
While it's thought that Cruise has been shocked by the split. He issued a statement saying: 'Kate has filed for divorce and Tom is deeply saddened and is concentrating on his three children.
'Please allow them their privacy to work this out.'
