Black tea matches green tea for health benefits

A builder's brew is just as good for you as 'posh' green tea, a new report finds

Green tea has long enjoyed a reputation as superior in health benefits when compared to a good old English breakfast cuppa, but a new study reveals a builder’s brew is just as good for you.

Black tea with a splash of milk was found to contain just as many health-boosting properties as green infusions in the report, which was commissioned by the Tea Advisory Panel.

It found that both green and black tea have the ability to reduce the risk of cancer and diabetes, as well as improving your heart and circulation.

It is thought that both teas offer similar health benefits as they originate from the same Camellia Sinensis plant and contain similar compounds.

Sounds like the perfect excuse for a tea break!
