Your sunglasses will thank you

There's no denying it - we love a good beauty hack. So much so, we actively search for alternative ways to use our beauty products, new tips and expert tricks on a daily basis.

One of the most hacked beauty products we own? Lip balm. Cracked lips, rough skin, glossy eyeshadow mix - we've used it in a million different ways, so the idea that there's yet more ways of using this simple salve is quite literally blowing our minds.

Enter the new trick of using your lip balm to clean your sunglasses. Yep, that's right. If your sunnies didn't come with a cleaning cloth, don't despair, because lip balm will not only clean your lenses, it'll get rid of dirt, grime, even sea salt. And because you likely have one in your bag at all times, you'll never have a mark on your specs again.

The technique is super simple too. All you have to do is rub your lip balm over the lenses of your sunglasses (we used EOS Smooth Sphere Lip Balm, £6.50, boots.com to do the trick) and then wipe them with any clean cloth - a tea towel, your t-shirt, whatever you can get your hands on. Some experts even say it removes grit from salty air and humidity even better than a window cleaner! Although, we wouldn't recommend using your lip balm to clean a whole window (that would take days and wouldn't be cost effective in the slightest).

Once you've wiped the lip balm off, your sunglasses will be the cleanest they've ever been and the best part is that it also works as a type of barrier, so your lenses are less likely to get grubby quickly. Not only that, it works as a great computer screen cleaner too. Talk about being a multi-tasker!

Ever wondered which red lipstick is the perfect shade for you? Powder can match you with the perfect one in 30 seconds...
