Here’s everything to know…

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have had an eventful few months, from their move to Frogmore Cottage to the birth of their first child, Archie.

This weekend however, it wasn’t Archie’s God parents or the renovation updates that got everyone talking. Instead, it was Prince Harry’s birthday, as the Duke of Sussex turned 35-years-old.

The typical royal birthday celebrations in this day and age involve other members of the family publicly marking the date with a tribute on social media, with everyone from the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, sending Harry birthday wishes.

The most noise however was made from Prince Harry’s wife, Meghan Markle.

The Duchess is known to rip up the royal rulebook, from shutting her own car door to making feminist speeches on the regular, but this weekend it was a royal social media first.

Meghan took to the Sussex Royal Instagram account that she and Harry share but instead of writing a formal message as is regular with the Windsor-Mountbattens, Meghan posted a personal message, gushing about her husband.

‘Wishing a very happy birthday to His Royal Highness Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex!,’ the Sussex Royal Instagram account posted alongside a series of photographs about the nation’s favourite, before introducing a personal message from Meghan.

‘Your service to the causes you care so deeply for inspires me every day,’ read the post. ‘You are the best husband and most amazing dad to our son. We love you ❤️ Happiest birthday!’

It is not known how Prince Harry spent his birthday, but it is being assumed that he spent the day with his wife Meghan Markle and his new baby, Archie. This will be Harry’s first birthday since becoming a father.

Well that’s lovely.
