Mariah Carey Is Getting Her Own Reality TV Show. Here's Why We're Excited...

We all know Mariah's World is going to be all types of crazy

Mariah Carey has used her powerhouse vocal chords to entertain us for years and now the Grammy-award winning, self-proclaimed diva is turning her hand to reality television. Yup, she's going all Kardashian on us.

It's been confirmed that Mariah has *just* started filming for an eight-part series, 'Mariah's World', but just before you go thinking that it's going to be an actual KUWTK homage, the singer has said that her show is going to a reality show with a difference - a 'docu-series' in fact.

'I refuse to call it a reality show,' she told the New York Times. Because apparently she wants us to see the chilled-out, hardworking woman behind the mic, not 'me getting my nails done', as she put it.

'I thought it would be a good opportunity to kind of, like, show my personality and who I am, even though I feel like my real fans have an idea of who I am,' Carey said.

'A lot of people have misperceptions about this and that.'

Ok, that's totally fair enough, but can we please get a tour of her mega-mansion complete with crazy walk-in wardrobe? And obviously we're dying for her to lift the lid on her potentially-insane wedding plans with billionaire finance James Packer...

Well Carey's told the Times that Packer won't feature much - and neither will her adorable four-year-old twins, Monroe and Moroccan, but the publication has reported that we will bear witness to Carey planning part of her nuptials with Packer which is expected to take place this Spring. (And last time we checked Spring was officially now, so we're deffs tuning in).

And in a press release, Jeff Olde, Executive Vice President at E! said the series 'will present a unique, vulnerable and surprisingly humorous side to Mariah that her fans have never before seen while showcasing her unparalleled celebrity lifestyle filled with true glamour, maximum luxury and ultimate stardom.'

Yay - something tells us this is going to be so far away from the realms of normality, we won't be able to stop watching it.

Filming for the show began two weeks ago and will also follow Carey on tour in Europe and South Africa. The first hour-long episode is expected to debut on E! this summer.
