Although previously banned by Victoria from attending her shows for fear of him being too much of a distraction, David's presence indicated the former popstar was much more at ease with her role as a fashion designer and a confident mood echoed throughout the collection.

Sleek models sporting crimson lips showcased Beckham’s signature bodycon dresses but this time with a nod to military and sports luxe looks. David was credited with inspiring the peaked beanie hats, while Romeo’s baseball kit apparently led to the sporty collars.

Stretched knitted dresses in crimson, black and teal and khaki greens were cut to just below or above the knee. Although figure hugging, they kept a demure feel with buttoned-up collars and elbow length sleeves.

Each piece reflected her own polished style with flattering panels to emphasie a trim figure and exposed back zips running from neck to hem giving dresses a subtle, sexy twist. Coats were smart with epaulets and neat gold buttons.

What got everyone talking, though, was a photo Victoria tweeted just before the show, of three suede totes with the caption ‘Meet Harper!’

They are sure to be next season’s It-bag.
