Rumours are rife that the former chief creative officer of Jimmy Choo is launching a lifestyle brand.

According to WWD, plans are already under way for Mellon's next masterplan.

Mellon founded luxury shoe brand Jimmy Choo in 1996 with a £150,000 loan. Her exit from the company came as a shock to the industry - but the plot thickens further...

Now rumour has it that she wants to start a lifestyle brand, similar to Tom Ford's, to includes men and women's fashion, fragrance, cosmetics and eyewear.

'Funding is already in place for a Tamara Mellon brand,' a source told WWD. According to the same source, Mellon's ambitions, 'always stretched beyond Jimmy Choo.'

Mellon was awarded an OBE and made a business ambassador by the government last year.

In an interview with WWD this summer Mellon hinted at her idea for another brand: 'I'm not sure why that idea seems to be cropping up now,' she said at the time. 'But you never know what the future holds.'

True, although in Mellon's case we're pretty sure whatever she does next, she will do it wearing a pair of fabulous high heels.
