Stella McCartney, who is a lifelong vegetarian and does not use any leather or fur in her designs, has taken her eco credentials one step further with biodegradable shoes.
The shoes for her A/W’12 collection, which included a pair of red croc effect high heels and a chunky blocked heel with oversized buckle, all feature a prominent white platform sole which is biodegradable.
Made from bioplastic derived from renewable raw materials, the soles will break down in the environment naturally.
Although why anyone would want to put these heeled beauties in the recycling bin is a mystery to us!
