But what should the collection be called?

...Yes, you read right. Robert Pattinson, he of Twilight fame, is turning his hand to fashion design and has revealed that he’s been working on plans for a new label for over TWO YEARS now - so he’s quite serious about it, then.

‘For the last two years, I've been visiting producers and craftsmen,’ he said in an interview with Numéro Homme magazine, who had initially asked him if he could see himself becoming a film director in the future. ‘There's already quite a few pieces. I love doing it.’

All very intriguing from the man who’s personal off-duty uniform consists of black skinny jeans and bomber jackets. No word yet on a name for the line (may we suggest Patz-a-Porter? Rob’s Robes? We hope he comes up with something better than that...) or whether he’ll be doing a Kanye West and trying to showcase his wares as a ‘designer collection’ on the fashion week schedule.

No word, either, on whether Robert can actually draw / design / tailor at all – although, as he says, he’s managed to stitch some samples together already. We wonder whether he picked up any tips during his time as the face of Dior Homme?

‘My style is influenced by the cities I go to, sourcing fabrics and local skills,’ he explains in the interview. ‘In Los Angeles it's really easy to work with denim and do workwear inspired clothes. In England I look more towards wool and knitwear. What I do is pretty multifaceted, clothes for men and for women, things that I make with friends.’

As eternal Twi-hards, we of course wish Robert all the best with his new fashion venture - if his achingly cool girlfriend FKA Twigs has anything to do with it, it's bound to be a hit. We just hope he doesn’t suffer the same rocky runway journey that Kanye West did in pursuit of instant designer stardom. These celebs need to remember; Dior wasn’t built in a day.
