This is why Meghan Markle wears three rings on her wedding finger

Back in June, Meghan Markle broke her maternity leave early to attend Trooping the Colour, the Queen's official birthday celebrations, though she left baby Archie at home for these reasons.

She enjoyed a carriage ride to Buckingham Palace with Prince Harry, Kate Middleton and Camilla, and looked chic in a white and navy ensemble with cap sleeves, paired with a pill box hat.

Eagle eyed viewers also noticed that not only was she wearing her engagement and wedding rings again (she took them off during some of her pregnancy), but she also sported a new ring.

From the pictures, it looks like a gold eternity ring, a simple band covered in diamonds. It looks to be a new addition to her jewellery collection as she hasn't been photographed wearing it before.

Traditionally, an eternity ring - which has no beginning and no end - symbolises lasting love and commitment, so it's likely it was a gift from Prince Harry.

Given that the couple welcomed baby Archie just a few months ago, it's also very likely this was a gift from Harry to celebrate this milestone in their family.

Penny grew up in France and studied languages and law at the Sorbonne Nouvelle University in Paris before moving to the UK for her MA in multimedia journalism at Bournemouth University. She moved to the UK permanently and has never looked back (though she does go back regularly to stock up on cheese and wine).

Although she's always loved fashion - she used to create scrapbooks of her favourite trends and looks, including Sienna Miller and Kate Moss' boho phase - her first job was at MoneySavingExpert.com, sourcing the best deals for everything from restaurants to designer sales.

However she quit after two years to follow her true passion, fashion journalism, and after many years of internships and freelance stints at magazines including Red, Cosmopolitan, Stylist and Good Housekeeping, landed her dream job as the Digital Fashion Editor at Marie Claire UK.

Her favourite part of the job is discovering new brands and meeting designers, and travelling the world to attend events and fashion shows. Seeing her first Chanel runway IRL at Paris Fashion Week was a true pinch-me moment.
