Here’s why Meghan Markle broke her maternity leave early

And it’s for a very lovely reason.

And it’s for a very lovely reason.

This weekend saw Trooping the Colour, the Queen’s official birthday celebrations, seeing the royal family gather from far and wide to mark the date with a parade.

While the Cambridge family made news (Prince Louis made his first official royal outing and showcased his royal wave), it was Meghan Markle who really hit the headlines, breaking her maternity leave to make a surprise appearance.

Sitting alongside the Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Harry and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, Meghan took part in the carriage procession, proving herself to be a fully fledged member of the royal family.

‘The Duchess is still on maternity leave,’ a royal source informed HELLO!, ‘But this is a family moment, with the wider members of the royal family all in attendance. The Queen’s birthday celebration is a family event.’

It is thought that Meghan will now stay on maternity leave until late summer, with the Duchess spending some quality time with baby Archie in Frogmore Cottage.

We’re wishing Meghan a relaxing rest of her her maternity leave!
