But Lily James, the Downton lady currently touring the globe as Disney’s Cinderella has, sartorially speaking, been knocking it out of the park as of late.
She’s been quietly building her fashion credentials for a while now, working both cool designer labels and some princess-worthy silhouettes in real life, while in the beauty stakes she’s also mixing it up by switching from natural beauty to slick vamp with the flick of a magic (mascara) wand.
Gorgeous and a little bit goofy, we’re calling odds that she’ll soon take her own, J Law-type place amongst our favourite red carpet style stars.

In Balenciaga This was a biggie – the London premiere of Cinderella. And Lily totally stepped up style-wise in this seriously cool button wrap Balenciaga column gown. In Erdem Lily supported British design talent at the Italian premiere of Cinderella, choosing botanical Erdem lace to impress while in Milan. We love the ringlet up-do she’s clashed with it - very period drama, no? Fiancée Matt Smith is clearly keen too.
