The ultra-chic actress reveals her go-to shopping haunts

Meet Hollywood’s go-to French dream girl, the model-slash-actor-slash-singer Joséphine de La Baume. As one fifth of Zalando’s AW16 campaign – which features multi-talented women with distinctive personalities including model and artist Phoebe Collings-James, entrepreneur and fashion editor Veronika Heilbrunner, artist and model Saskia de Brauw, and actress Elisa Sednaoui – Joséphine’s personal style is just as multi-faceted. We discover how she shaped her unique and perfectly Parisian style.

How would you describe your personal style?

Quite masculine, I wear a lot of men’s jackets and jeans and boots.

What’s your number one vintage shopping tip?

I’m quite a lazy shopper, so I never really go on shopping missions so I just go to two vintage shops that have an incredible selection so I know I’ll find things. I don’t really take pleasure out of looking for things so I’m happy to pay a little bit more for the right thing. In Paris I go to Pretty Box and in London I go to Rellik.

What’s been the most significant thing in your life that’s shaped your style?

The first women that I tried to imitate were Lauren Bacall when I was 7 maybe because I thought her wavy hair was incredible and Michelle Pfeiffer in Grease because she has these amazing bangs and this leather jacket. I wouldn’t say necessarily that they shaped my style but they were definitely the first two women I remember being like ‘Wow, I wish I looked like that.’

What new piece of clothing are you dying to get your hands on?

I really need a new pair of leather jeans because I have a pair of J Brand ones that I over-wore obsessively like I do with all my clothes, so they’re ripping at the back. Leather pants from J Brand are definitely on my list.

Who are your favourite designers?

It’s quite hard to wear but I love what Iris Van Herpen does, I think she’s incredible.

Where do you shop most often?

In London, I like Topshop and in New York I go to Opening Ceremony.

Which movie have you enjoyed acting in the most?

I really liked being in Listen Up Philip because I really enjoyed the movie. I loved filming Road Games too.
