This jewellery collab proves crystals are the next big thing

Unless you live in a cave, you'll have noticed that crystals have becom a huge trend, even if they've been around for centuries. Crystal infused beauty is the latest treatment to improve body and soul, and now the gemstones are making their way into our attire, courtesy of a stunning new jewellery collaboration.

Monica Vinader has teamed up with fashion influencer Caroline Issa to create a collection celebrating the colourful and natural state of stones, launching on 9th September (with pre-order from 23rd August).

The result? Candy-coloured gemstones in raw finishes and organic forms, complemented by 18ct rose and yellow gold vermeil. There are statement earrings, delicate necklaces and charm bracelets.

Here Caroline tells me how to style the collection and have a bit of fun with your wardrobe for autumn/winter.

What are your top style tips for the season?

Indulge in colour, new shapes and silhouettes and just have fun with fashion!

Has your experience as a fashion director helped with the collection?

I think my experience as a fashion director of both Tank and Becauselondon.com allows me to have a really privileged view across the landscape as to what exists and what people are doing - and what is therefore missing! It also always inspires me to see how creatives approach new collections and what they think is vital to authentic product classics. So when I approach any collaboration, I'm able to take all the knowledge and memory of this input and make sure I do something that means I'm creating something of value, of substance, of timelessness.

What’s the inspiration behind the collection?

We really got inspired by the natural beauty, the colours and the shapes of the gemstones in their pure, raw states - from there, we curated the stones together to sit magically together, whether on the cocktail earrings or the necklace and what felt the most magical and vibrant.

How would you style the pieces?

I'd go super simple - white shirt, blue jeans, great cocktail earrings, or I'd really go for it with use of colour - a pink dress with necklace and maximalist earrings. Leverage the drench and saturation of the colours of the stones alongside joyful, colourful clothes! They are pretty versatile.

What one piece should we invest in?

The cocktail earrings - because you can keep them in your bag and whip them out anytime for a bit more drama to an outfit - great for desk-to-dinner outfit changes when you are too lazy or have no time to change your clothes! Add some statement earrings and you are ready.

Penny Goldstone is the Digital Fashion Editor at Marie Claire, covering everything from catwalk trends to royal fashion and the latest high street and Instagram must-haves.

Penny grew up in France and studied languages and law at the Sorbonne Nouvelle University in Paris before moving to the UK for her MA in multimedia journalism at Bournemouth University. She moved to the UK permanently and has never looked back (though she does go back regularly to stock up on cheese and wine).

Although she's always loved fashion - she used to create scrapbooks of her favourite trends and looks, including Sienna Miller and Kate Moss' boho phase - her first job was at MoneySavingExpert.com, sourcing the best deals for everything from restaurants to designer sales.

However she quit after two years to follow her true passion, fashion journalism, and after many years of internships and freelance stints at magazines including Red, Cosmopolitan, Stylist and Good Housekeeping, landed her dream job as the Digital Fashion Editor at Marie Claire UK.

Her favourite part of the job is discovering new brands and meeting designers, and travelling the world to attend events and fashion shows. Seeing her first Chanel runway IRL at Paris Fashion Week was a true pinch-me moment.
