H&M will take to the French catwalk to showcase its wares at Paris Fashion Week

H&M has followed rather fashionably behind a collection of high street stores, including Whistles and River Island, and will feature in the Fashion Week schedule, gracing the catwalk in Paris.

The Swedish chain is to host its first fashion show in eight years, and plans to unveil 25 looks from its autumn/winter 2013-14 collection at the grand Musee Rodin.

Yes, that’s the same venue where Yves Saint Laurent and Christian Dior have previously shown new collections.

Speaking of their delight in joining the Paris Fashion Week schedule, Håcan Andersson from H&M told WWD: ‘We felt excited about the collection and we really wanted to show it.’

This news sparks a new trend for high street powerhouses who are venturing into Fashion Week. Earlier this week Whistles announced it will host a salon show at London Fashion Week, while the hotly-anticipated River Island collection in collaboration with Rihanna will also show in LDN.
