Last night saw the crème de la crème of the celebs rock the red carpet at the New York amfAR Gala, and let us tell you, the fashion was on point.

First off, there was the little black dress brigade, and what a brigade it was. Girls actress Zosia Mamet showed off her shoulders in a ruffled black dress, while Scarlett Johansson kept things classy in a black suit with white satin lapel.

Meanwhile, models Hilary Rhoda and Heidi Klum in Versace both opted for the side split dress, a timeless classic that's always a safe bet on the red carpet.

The Yin to their Yang, Zoe Kravitz and Liya Kebede both wore white ensembles, also by Versace - which was being honoured at the gala. Zoe's gown featured a jewel tie around the neck, while Liya's shirt dress was a little more casual, especially as she teamed it with black biker boots.

Obviously, what is a red carpet without a little bit of shimmer? Lucky for us, of that there was plenty.

Paris Hilton and Naomi Campbell both went for metallics in sequin copper gowns, Paris in gold and Naomi in bright orange. Donatella Versace and Ellie Goulding went for pinker shades in their glittery ensembles.

Then there are the style mavericks, who always like to mix things up a bit. We're looking at you Diane Kruger and Amber Valletta. Diane donned a multi-coloured mini dress by Versace, while Amber stunned in a asymmetric gown.

Special mention to Chloë Sevigny and her red Miu Miu gown with black bow details on the shoulders.
