This is what Elton John has to say about Meghan Markle’s shoes

ICYMI Meghan Markle met Beyonce yesterday at the UK premiere for The Lion King in London. Despite both having prominent careers in America, they hadn't met before, and quickly bonded over their children, with the singer apparently saying Archie was 'so beautiful'.

But it turns out Beyonce wasn't the only celeb dishing out compliments to the Duchess, who was accompanied by Prince Harry on the red carpet.

After chatting to the Carters, the royal couple moved onto Sir Elton John, who couldn't help but compliment Meghan on her outfit, and in particular, her shoes.

She wore a black satin Jason Wu midi dress which featured a sheer neckline and sleeves, and accessorised with Nikos Koulis stud earrings and a Gucci clutch.

On her feet were a pair of black satin Aquazurra, adorned with diamante straps at the back.

Elton was overheard saying, 'I'm admiring your shoes', though to be fair, his jazzy flats were also pretty on point.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry couldn't get enough of Pharrell (who collaborated on the soundtrack) and shorts and tuxedo jacket combo, saying, 'I love the look'.

Penny grew up in France and studied languages and law at the Sorbonne Nouvelle University in Paris before moving to the UK for her MA in multimedia journalism at Bournemouth University. She moved to the UK permanently and has never looked back (though she does go back regularly to stock up on cheese and wine).

Although she's always loved fashion - she used to create scrapbooks of her favourite trends and looks, including Sienna Miller and Kate Moss' boho phase - her first job was at MoneySavingExpert.com, sourcing the best deals for everything from restaurants to designer sales.

However she quit after two years to follow her true passion, fashion journalism, and after many years of internships and freelance stints at magazines including Red, Cosmopolitan, Stylist and Good Housekeeping, landed her dream job as the Digital Fashion Editor at Marie Claire UK.

Her favourite part of the job is discovering new brands and meeting designers, and travelling the world to attend events and fashion shows. Seeing her first Chanel runway IRL at Paris Fashion Week was a true pinch-me moment.
