Showgoers including Jessica Alba & Blake Lively were treated to a visual feast of floral-inspired designs from John Galliano
It’s the week that showcases the most expensive dresses in the world, and John Galliano ensured this season’s couture shows went off with a bang last night, with a crowd-wowing Christian Dior collection.
The models walzed down the runway in fantastical designs inspired by all things floral – vivid splashy colours, petal-shaped skirts and collars, ruffled, textured fabrics and hand-painted flower prints.
The finale ball gowns were quite simply, some of the most beautiful pieces we’ve ever clapped eyes on – with huge, all-encompassing skirts and layers of tulle, draped silk, and ruched taffeta.
Make-up was bold, theatrical with dark plum lips, dramatically lined eyes and fabulous faux lashes, while hairpieces – courtesy of Stephen Jones – were created to look like florists’ cellophane wrapping.
John Galliano’s veritable ‘garden’ of creations was staged in a transparent tent in the grounds of the famous Rodin museum in Paris.
