The royal beauty is Gucci’s latest poster girl

She’s the granddaughter of Hollywood style icon Grace Kelly, so it was only a matter of time before the equally chic Charlotte Casiraghi fronted a major advertising campaign for one of the leading fashion labels.

Gucci today released a picture of the fourth in line to the throne of Monaco as its latest star poster girl fronting the Italian brand’s new Forever Now campaign, which launched last year in celebration of the house’s 90th anniversary.

The brunette princess, a journalist and keen horsewoman with an impressive equestrian career, will appear in a four-part series of pictures each shot by an iconic photographer.

The first picture, taken by German snapper Peter Lindbergh, shows Casiraghi wearing her riding gear and a Gucci headscarf sat on some bales of hay in a stable with a designer handbag by the label visible in the background. The headscarf and bag both feature Gucci's signature green and red stripe, which the brand's founder, Guccio Gucci, used after spotting the colour combination on the girth strap of a horse's saddle.

The other three campaign images, which will run over the next two years, will also reference the equestrian fashion themes central to the history of Gucci, such as the bridle bit.

It’s not the first time the 25-year-old has teamed up with the Italian fashion house. For the past two years, Casiraghi has been the official equestrian ambassador for the label, with Gucci’s Creative Director, Frida Giannini, designing her showjumping wardrobe whilst she competes in the annual Global Champions Tour.

Casiraghi joins the likes of actress Evan Rachel Wood and Australian model Abbey Lee Kershaw as faces of the brand.
