Angelina Jolie has refined her red-carpet style over the years. She usually goes for neutral colours, clean lines and sleek silhouettes -- but every so often she does something to surprise us.

At a Maleficent photocall in Paris last night, the 38-year-old actress seemed to be following her usual fashion formula. Rocking an uber-chic Ralph Lauren jumpsuit, Angie looked gorgeous and sophisticated. But her basic black look wasn't exactly thrilling us. That is, until we noticed her shoes.

The actress, who plays the villain in the upcoming Sleeping Beauty adaptation, gave a playful nod to her evil character by rocking black courts with a sinister horned heel.

Her costar Elle Fanning, who plays Princess Aurora, also paid homage to her character, rocking a sweet pair of 'Sleepy Beauty' heels by Charlotte Olympia.

We love that these two fashionistas both managed to incorporate the theme of their Disney film into their ensembles without looking the least bit cheesy or costumey. Well done, ladies
