The actor has filed for divorce from the mother of his three children
Twilight actor Peter Facinelli has ended his 11 year marriage to the mother of his three children, Beverly Hills 90210 star Jennie Garth.
Peter has filed the papers for the divorce, citing 'irreconcilable differences' as the reason behind the split. He is also seeking joint custody of their three young daughters.
Garth's lawyer simultaneously filed a response to the divorce petition and has requested that her name be legally changed from Facinelli back to Garth, reports TNZ.

Early this month the couple confirmed their split in a joint statement saying: 'While we have decided to end our marriage, we both share the same deep love and devotion to our children.'
The Beverly Hills 90210 actress recently admitted Peter's work on the Twilight movies was a factor in the relationship breakdown, telling People.com: 'He did everything he could to fly back every weekend ... [but] it took a real toll on our marriage.'
Garth also said that her husband of 11 years asked her for a divorce last autumn but it was something that took her a while to 'come to peace with.'
