The 31-year-old Irish hunk is being lined up to replace Charlie Hunnam as Christian Grey
50 Shades Of Grey movie bosses have already lined up a new hunk to play Christian Grey after Charlie Hunnam’s shock resignation last week. Step forward, Irish hottie, Jamie Dornan…
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the startlingly handsome 31-year-old actor has shot to the top of the list of possible new leads to star in the highly anticipated silver screen adaptation of E.L. James’ saucy novel. We don’t blame them.
Born and bred in Northern Ireland’s Holywood, 5ft 11 Jamie first made a name for himself in fairytale-themed TV series Once Upon A Time before taking on the role of psychopath in BBC crime drama The Fall earlier this year. With those beautiful baby blues and smouldering stare, we can totally see why he caught the casting director's eye.
Jamie famously dated actress Keira Knightley from 2003 to 2005 and has since been linked to Sienna Miller, Kate Moss and Lindsay Lohan. And just like Mr. Grey, Dornan's certainly not shy about getting his kit off for the camera – the former Calvin Klein underwear model has appeared in near-naked campaigns with both Moss and Eva Mendes. Perfect Christian material, then...
The hunky Irishman is thought to be competing against fellow front-runners Alexander Skarsgard, Matt Bomer, Christian Cooke and Cillian Murphy to nab the coveted role of the book’s S&M-loving CEO, with the news of Jamie’s possible casting having also been confirmed by a writer for The Wrap.
The news comes after Sons Of Anarchy star Charlie Hunnam pulled out of playing Christian due to his ‘immersive TV schedule’. A statement from Universal Pictures read: 'The filmmakers of Fifty Shades of Grey and Charlie Hunnam have agreed to find another male lead given Charlie's immersive TV schedule which is not allowing him time to adequately prepare for the role of Christian Grey.'
