Actress Scarlett Johansson looked senstational as she was honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame
Scarlett Johansson thanked her lucky stars as she was honoured with the 2,470th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame yesterday.
The Avengers actress told fans and friends she was ‘over the moon’ at being awarded the iconic plaque on the famed Hollywood Boulevard.
Wearing a sophisticated black and white Preen dress, screen siren Scarlett Johansson said: ‘This industry in which I was practically raised has been so impossibly kind to me. There’s never a day where I go to set and don’t thank my lucky stars to simply be a working actor.’
‘Never ever in my 20 years in this industry would I ever, ever have thought my receiving this star would be even a remote possibility,’ she added.
The 27-year-old star, who began her acting career at 12 after starring opposite Robert Redford in The Horse Whisperer, was joined at the ceremony by her mother, sister, grandmother and her The Avengers co-star Jeremy Renner.
Renner paid tribute to the actress, saying: ‘Scarlett is built like a classic Hollywood movie star. However, it is only betrayed by her no-nonsense attitude, her sharp wit and self-deprecating sense of humour that truly defines her alluring charm.’
Talking of the time he spent with the her on the set of The Avengers, Renner added: ‘For six months she continuously threw me around, beat me, stepped on me, and wiped the floor with my dignity and self-respect every day all with a smile on her face.
‘But it was her emotional intelligence and commitment to truth that allowed for me to be a better actor and, as a friend, made me a better man.’
